BIOGRAPHY

Bee Hazelwood (they/them) is a first-generation doctoral student in the Department of Sociology. Their research interests surround trans/genderqueer communities, particularly concerning the intersection of gender-identity with experiences of disability.

From Utah State University, Bee received their M.S. and B.S. in Sociology, as well as an A.S. in Criminal Justice. Drawing on interviews with 16 bi+ identified individuals, Bee’s master’s thesis explores the ways in which bi+ folk navigate the development of their sexual-identities and engage with queer communities.

Bee currently serves on the council for QT-Grad, a student organization at MSU aimed at supporting queer and trans graduate students.
