BIOGRAPHY

Yu Guo is visiting scholar in the Department of Sociology at Michigan State University 2023.7-2024.6. She is a Ph.D. candidate at the Institute for Population and Development Studies at Xi'an Jiaotong University in China. Her primary research interests include aging, population health, and public policy, with a special interest in exploring and understanding how social factors such as family relationships, life events, and social support are related to mental and physical health outcomes using quantitative methods. Currently, she participates in Zhenmei Zhang’s group at MSU to explore the relationship between family caregiving and related depressive and cognitive outcomes in China, by comparing the health of caregivers and non-caregiver, and exploring how the behaviors of caregiving influencing the level and changes rate of health outcomes for both care recipients and givers. She hopes to get some public policy implications from the research project.
