Climate Justice and Environmental Ethics

A continuation of the Campus Convening on Climate held in April 2022, this event will provide an opportunity for researchers from across disciplines to discuss climate change in the context of societal impacts, and to connect faculty from the social sciences, humanities, and STEM fields. A panel discussion and Q&A with experts in climate justice and environmental ethics will kick off the agenda, followed by an introduction and overview of an open call for Concept Papers for new, collaborative research projects funded by the Office of Research and Innovation, and respective colleges. The afternoon will conclude with open time for networking.

Panelists include:

  • Dr. Kristin L. Arola, Associate Professor of Writing Rhetoric and American Cultures and Interim Director of the American Indian and Indigenous Studies Program
  • Dr. Jennifer Carrera, Assistant Professor of Sociology and Environmental Science and Policy Program
  • Dr. Amber Pearson, Associate Professor of Geography Environment Spatial Sciences
  • Dr. Gretel Van Wieren, Professor of Religious Studies and Philosophy

Dr. Elizabeth Mack will serve as the respondent for the event along with convening facilitators Dr. Anna Maria Santiago and Dr. Bill Hart-Davidson.
