Dr. Monique Kelly is teaching SOC 460: Human Migration this fall. This class focuses on immigration in a broader context as we explore human migrations and their consequences for societies. We
will explore current debates and crises surrounding migration and examine the intersections of
immigration with other topics such as race and structural racism, history, culture, immigrant incorporation, politics, etc.
The course is open to all undergraduates and graduate students and is required for the Migration Minor in Sociology. A Tier 1 writing course is a prerequisite. The recommended background is SOC 100 (or concurrently) or SOC 260 (or concurrently).
There is no textbook for this course. It will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays 12:40 p.m. - 2 p.m. in 122 Berkey Hall.
