Dr. Xuefei Ren elected to the board of RC21 on Sociology of Urban and Regional Development

Dr. Xuefei Ren, Associate Professor of Sociology, has been elected to serve a three year term on the board of Research Committee 21 (RC21) on Sociology of Urban and Regional Development of the International Sociological Association.

Xuefei RenEstablished in 1970, RC21 is the most active and visible association for global urban studies. It promotes the theory and research of sociology of urban and regional development and creates an international community of scholars.

"RC21 has been an integral part of my intellectual life. I’ve been attending the RC21 conferences since I was a graduate student back in the early 2000s. RC21 has broadened my intellectual horizon and professional network. By serving on the board, I hope to spotlight the new generation of scholarship on global urban comparisons and facilitate the conversation and exchange among urban scholars in Europe, United States, Asia and beyond," Dr. Ren wrote.

In addition to Sociology, Dr. Ren is faculty in the Global Urban Studies Program.
