MSU Sociology Alumni Updates

In 2021, PhD alumni of MSU Sociology had several accomplishments ranging from new books, promotions and grants:

• Dr. Manashi Ray was promoted to full professor at West Virginia State University.
• Dr. Charles Spurlock of Langston University wrote a successful grant proposal to the U.S. Department of Energy's Established Program. Funding provided by the grant will support a study of Black Americans’ perceptions of risk associated with climate and pollution. The award includes funding  to support Langston students’ employment as research assistants in the research project.
• Dr. Ken Crane, professor at La Sierra University in Southern California, published a book with NYU Press, "Iraqi Refugees in the United States: The Enduring Effects of the War on Terror"
