Taste of the Land film screening and discussion

Thu, April 17, 2025 5:00 PM at 115 International Center

April 17 is the 50th anniversary of the fall of Phnom Penh to the Khmer Rouge, signaling the onset of the genocide in Cambodia, which displaced and murdered millions. To commemorate this event, Kalyanee Mam is screening her newest film, Taste of the Land, in the International Center with a discussion to follow. The film and the moment beg urgently relevant questions about the connections between genocide and ecocide, the ways people and the land can heal and remember, and the possibilities of speaking and knowing about these violences both on and off university campuses.
