Nate PoirierNathan is a PhD student in Sociology with specializations in Animal Studies and Women’s & Gender Studies. He holds a B.A. in mathematics from Aquinas College, an M.A. in mathematics from Western Michigan University, and an M.S. in Anthrozoology from Canisius College. His master’s thesis for Canisius critically examined the landscape of in vitro meat, focusing on its discourse, comparisons to vegetarianism, and potential cultural implications. Nathan has a wide array of academic interests, but his main interests include consistent anti-oppression, anarchism, veganism, human overpopulation, resource consumption, radical social movements, and critical pedagogy. Nathan is currently planning a dissertation to investigate links between proponents of "in vitro meat" and animal agribusiness.
