BIOGRAPHY

My research agenda focuses on the intersection of gender, knowledge, power, political sociology, and inequality. In particular, I am interested in how social power is utilized by individuals and institutions to shape knowledge, and how said knowledge subsequently reinforces social hierarchies. Specifically, I seek to examine how (trans)gender identities are defined and enforced by social actors and what roles varying social actors play in marginalizing trans identities and bodies across contexts.
