Sabrina McCormick is jointly appointed in the Department of Sociology and the Environmental Science and Policy Program. She specializes in environmental sociology, medical sociology, social movements and science studies. In the United States, she has examined the emergence and impact of the environmental breast cancer movement as well as several other health social movements. She is also currently directing a documentary film on three women with breast cancer entitled "No Family History". Dr. McCormick studies energy policy and the anti-dam movement in Brazil with particular attention to new participatory mechanisms the movement has developed.
