Alec Manaia Sociology Undergraduate Student Nominated for Udall Foundation Scholarship

Alec Manaia, Sociology major, has been nominated for a prestigious Udall Foundation scholarship. The Udall Foundation awards scholarships to college sophomores and juniors for leadership, public service, and commitment to issues related to American Indian nations or to the environment.

MSU’s Animal Studies mentioned in the New York Times

An article in the New York Times dated January 3, 2012 mentioned MSU's Animal Studies Program. allows doctoral and master’s students in different fields to concentrate their work in animal studies. At least two institutions in the country that offer undergraduate majors in the field.

The Sociology Department's 5th annual Honors/Awards Banquet was held on April 22, 2010 at the Union Building. Approximately 50 faculty, students, staff and special guests attended this event.
