Professor Emeritus Harry Perlstadt Elected to the Governing Council of the American Public Health Association

Professor Emeritus, Harry Perlstadt, was recently elected to the Governing Council of the American Public Health Association.  The Council is the representative legislative body of the APHA consisting of representatives from each section and each state or regional affiliated association.  It establishes public policies for the Association, elects the APHA Executive Board and officers, and amends the Bylaws.

He has previously served on the Governing Council as well as the Chair of the APHA Science Board, and Co-Chair of the Joint Policy Committee.  He has authored two public policy statements, one on "Changing the Common Rule to Facilitate Multisite Research and Establish an Appeals Process (2012)", and the other on "Supporting Regulation of electronic cigarettes (2014)".
