Biography:

Sarah Prior, Ph.D., is a fixed-term Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Michigan State University.  I am also a Faculty Associate in the School of Social Transformation at Arizona State University where I teach online in their Justice Studies program.  In the 2016/2017 academic year I taught for the Center for Gender in Global Context at MSU.  I received my Ph.D. (2012) in Justice Studies from Arizona State University where I focused my research on youth gender identity construction and management.  I moved to Michigan in June 2016.  My research primarily focuses on gendered violence, critical youth studies, intersectionality, and gender and sexuality.  My current work is examining campus sexual violence and the perpetuation of rape culture.
