Stephanie J. Nawyn (Assistant Professor) is an assistant professor in Sociology at Michigan
State University. Her research and teaching areas of expertise are in gender, immigration, family, and race and ethnicity. Dr. Nawyn has conducted research on non-governmental organizations that resettle and assist refugees in the U.S. Her current work focuses on how community organizations contribute to immigrant and refugee incorporation and the transformation of gender and family relations post-migration. She is also examining the socioeconomic advancement of African-born immigrants in the United States.
