Islam and Gender: Social Change and Diversity in Muslim Communities

Khalida Zaki, Conference Chair, thanks all who generouslysupported the March 17-18 conference on Islam and Gender: Social Change and Diversity in Muslim Communities. 

The invited speakers from the U.K., Sweden, Canada, and the United States addressed many important topics regarding Islam, social change and gender issues.  In all, approximately 600 people attended the conference.  A detailed conference report will be available in Fall 2006.
